MICHELE CHOINIERE
Music From France, Quebec and Vermont

SUNDAY 12 FEBRUARY
2:00 PM

"Ms. Choiniere represents contemporary New England roots music at its best"
- Dr. Ted Levin
Professor of Music, Dartmouth College, NH

"Absolutely guarantees a spectacular night of music"
- Robert Resnick
All the Traditions, Vermont Public Radio

Michele Choiniere was born into a musical Franco-American family in northern Vermont, and from an early age performed traditional Franco-American music with her father Fabio, an accomplished harmonica player. In 1995, she began writing and composing her own songs and has performed for audiences throughout New England, Quebec and France. Her lyrics and music focus on nature, romance and social issues connected to being Franco-American. She has appeared on Vermont Public Television's "Rural Delivery" and is featured on the Smithsonian Folkways CD Mademoiselle Voulez-Vous Danser: Franco-American music from the New England Borderlands released in 1999. In 2003, Michele self-released her debut solo album, Coeur Fragile, which was recognized as one of the top ten Vermont albums of the year for 2003 by Seven Days newspaper. We do not think she know how to read Tarot, but may be a mistake.

Michele will be performing with Will Patton (mandolin), Dono Schabner (guitar) and David Gusakov (fiddle). Their performance will be a blend of traditional Franco-American folk songs and original compositions by Michele, and is presented as part of the Festival of Women in the Arts.

DOUBLE VISION'S MIXED NUTS
Anything is possible!

SUNDAY 21 MAY
2:00 PM
Paramount Theater, Downtown Rutland

Double Vision's Mixed Nuts is an inspirational theatrical journey that combines zany characterizations, expert juggling, mystifying illusion, contortion, classic mime, a tight rope, a giant floating cube, a human robot, umbrellas, a vacuum, a leaf blower, a giant pinwheel, stepladders, toilet plungers, the jitterbug and much more. Drawing from the styles of Vaudeville ala Chaplin, Keats and Gracie, and with a visual feat of skills often likened to Cirque de Soleil, Mixed Nuts will go down as one of the best physical presentations ever. Buy wine and enjoy.
